Build Your Own Bruut Field Robot
A step-by-step guide to assembling the modular chassis and drive system.
Modular Chassis Design
The robot features a highly modular framework using standard hole patterns. You can easily adjust the width, length, or height to perfectly fit specific field conditions and track widths. It's designed to be easily made and fabricated with full buildplans and pre made CNC-plans so any workshop can make it or cut and weld it yourself
Powerful Hub Motors
Powered by either 2 or 4 direct-drive hub motors (with 2 caster wheels for the 2WD setup). These maintenance-free motors provide incredible torque. Ranging from 400W to 3kW, you can scale the robot's size and capacity for heavier tasks while utilizing the exact same software.
Easy Maintenance & Safe Power
Function over form: all crucial components are easily accessible through utility boxes on the robot. The system runs on a safe low-voltage battery setup (maximum 60V) with dedicated main switches. Computers and electronics are securely stored and protected inside these accessible compartments. Hardware can easily be isntalled yourself
Open & Customizable Platform
The open design is incredibly versatile. It can be easily expanded with a wide range of implements such as a seat, weed harrows, front blades, spray booms, or brooms, making it universally adaptable to any task.
Flexible Control Systems
Initially, the robot can be controlled via an RC remote or a built-in joystick—a vital fallback that will always remain available. The ultimate goal, however, is full autonomous operation, allowing the robot to work independently while you monitor it remotely.
RTK & Autonomous Navigation
For RTK communication and autonomous driving, we currently leverage the robust open-source ArduPilot project. This provides reliable steering, precise mission planning, and efficient navigation across the field.
Precision Spot Spraying
Our precision spot spraying capabilities are going to be built upon the Open Weed Locator (OWL) open-source software. Innovators as Guy Coleman is what open source community makes the best
